  • Chili powder – 1 tablespoon
  • Paprika – 1 teaspoon
  • Oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Water or broth – 3 cups

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients

  • Peel and cut the potatoes. Chop the onion and garlic. Slice the sausage into small round pieces.

Cook the Ground Beef

  • Heat oil in the pot. Add ground beef. Cook it until brown. Break it into small pieces.

Add the Sausage

  • Add the sliced sausage. Stir well. Cook until the sausage turns a little brown.

Add Onion and Garlic

  • Add chopped onion and garlic. Cook until the onion becomes soft and shiny.

Add Spices

  • Add salt, pepper, chili powder, and paprika. Mix well so all the meat gets the spice flavor.

Add Potatoes

  • Add the potatoes. Mix them with the meat and spices.

Add Tomatoes and Sauce

  • Pour diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Mix everything well.

Add Beans and Corn

  • Add canned beans and canned corn. Do not drain them. The liquid adds flavor.

Add Water or Broth

  • Pour water or broth until the pot is halfway full.

Simmer the Stew

  • Cover the pot. Cook until the potatoes are soft. Stir sometimes so nothing sticks.

Taste and Adjust

  • Taste the stew. Add more spices if needed. Add broth if the stew is too thick.

Serve Warm

  • Put the stew in bowls. Serve it hot. Add cheese or green onions if you like.

Notes

  • Smoked sausage is the tastiest to use.
  • Roast the beef to a tasty piece.
  • Cut potatoes in equal sizes.
  • Stronger flavor is achieved with broth.
  • Allow the stew to simmer and add more flavor.
