Ingredients
  

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 jalapeño chopped (optional)

Instructions
 

Season the Chicken

  • Rub chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper on chicken for full and bold flavor.

Heat the Pan

  • Add oil to a large pan. Warm it on medium heat until hot and ready for cooking.

Sear the Chicken

  • Cook chicken on both sides until golden. Remove it from pan and keep aside for later.

Melt the Butter

  • Add butter to the same pan. Let it melt slowly to start the cheese sauce base.

Add the Flour

  • Stir in the flour until smooth. Cook for one minute to remove raw taste from the flour.

Pour the Milk

  • Add milk slowly while whisking. Mix until smooth and thick for a rich and creamy base.

Add Chicken Broth

  • Pour broth into the pan. Mix well until a smooth and creamy sauce forms without any lumps.

Add Cheese

  • Stir in shredded cheese. Let it melt fully until sauce becomes thick, creamy, and glossy.

Add Jalapeño

  • Add chopped jalapeño for heat. Stir lightly to spread the spicy flavor into the cheese sauce.

Return the Chicken

  • Place chicken back in pan. Cover it with cheese sauce. Simmer until chicken becomes soft.

Simmer More

  • Cook for a few minutes. Make sure the sauce coats the chicken well for full flavor.

Serve Warm
