Ingredients
  

  • Graham cracker crumbs – 1 ½ cups
  • Melted butter – ½ cup
  • Sugar – ⅓ cup
  • Sweetened condensed milk – 1 can 14 oz
  • Egg yolks – 3
  • Fresh key lime juice – ½ cup
  • Lime zest – 1 teaspoon
  • Whipped cream – for topping

Instructions
 

Prepare the Crust

  • Mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter and sugar in a bowl. Stir until combined. Press the mixture into a pie dish. Make sure the crust is even and firm.

Bake the Crust

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the crust for 8–10 minutes. Remove and let it cool. This step makes the crust crispy and strong.

Mix the Filling Base

  • In a bowl, whisk egg yolks until smooth. Add condensed milk and mix well. The mixture should look creamy and thick.

Add Lime Flavor

  • Pour in fresh lime juice and add lime zest. Mix gently until smooth. The filling will thicken slightly. This gives the pie its signature tangy taste.

Fill the Crust

  • Pour the lime filling into the cooled crust. Spread evenly using a spatula. Make sure the top looks smooth and even.

Bake the Pie

Cool the Pie

  • Remove the pie from the oven. Let it cool at room temperature. Then place it in the fridge for at least 3 hours.
