Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper optional
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder optional
  • ½ teaspoon dried herbs optional like oregano or thyme

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This high temperature helps the cheese melt quickly and turn crispy. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Cheese

  • Grate fresh Parmesan cheese for best results. Fresh cheese melts better and gives a crisp texture. Avoid pre-shredded cheese with added starch.

Form Small Piles

  • Scoop small spoonfuls of cheese onto the baking sheet. Leave space between each pile. Flatten slightly into small round shapes for even baking.

Add Seasoning

  • Sprinkle a little black pepper, garlic powder or herbs on top. This adds extra flavor and makes the crisps more aromatic and tasty.

Bake the Crisps

  • Place the tray in the oven. Bake for 8–10 minutes. Watch carefully. The edges should turn golden brown and slightly crispy.

Cool the Crisps

  • Remove the tray from the oven. Let the crisps cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. They will become firm as they cool.

Remove and Serve

  • Gently lift the crisps using a spatula. Serve immediately or store for later. Enjoy as a snack or appetizer.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Do not make thick piles
  • Watch closely while baking
  • Use parchment paper for easy removal
  • Let them cool fully before storing
  • Add herbs for extra flavor
