  • 1 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Prepare the Vegetables

  • Chop onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Keep them ready for cooking.

Cook the Beef

  • Heat olive oil in a pot. Add beef and cook until brown. Drain extra fat.

Add Tomato Paste and Tomatoes

  • Add tomato paste and diced tomatoes. Mix well. This makes a rich base.

Add Beans and Broth

  • Add both beans and broth. Stir gently. Boil once, then lower the heat.

Simmer the Chili

  • Cook on low for 25–30 minutes. Stir sometimes.

Taste and Adjust

  • Taste the chili. Add more salt or chili if needed.

Notes

  • Add a small piece of dark chocolate for deep flavor.
  • Simmer longer for richer taste.
  • Add jalapeños or cayenne for more spice.
  • Use turkey instead of beef for a lighter meal.
