Ingredients

  • 4 oz soft cream cheese
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soft butter
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract
  • 2 –3 drops orange food color
  • 1 pinch salt
  • ¼ cup extra sugar for coating

Instructions

Soften the Cream Cheese

  • Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature until soft and smooth to mix well.

Add the Butter

  • Add soft butter to the cream cheese and mix until both blend smoothly together.

Mix in the Orange Extract

  • Pour in orange extract and stir to give a strong fresh orange flavor to the dough.

Add Powdered Sugar Slowly

  • Add powdered sugar in small parts and mix until the dough becomes thick and firm.

Add Orange Food Color

  • Add a few drops of orange color and mix until the color spreads evenly through everything.

Form a Soft Dough

  • Mix well until you get a soft dough that does not stick to your hands too much.

Prepare a Tray

  • Place parchment paper on a tray to keep the mints from sticking while shaping.

Roll Small Balls

  • Take small pieces of dough and roll them into small round smooth balls with your hands.

Press With a Fork

  • Press each ball gently with a fork to give tiny lines and cute texture on top.

Use Candy Molds

  • If you want fun shapes, press the dough into candy molds and pop them out carefully.

Coat With Sugar

  • Roll each piece in extra sugar to give a sweet finish and stop sticking.

Set on Tray

  • Place all shaped mints on the tray and make sure they do not touch.

Let Them Air Dry

  • Leave the mints at room temperature for some hours to dry and get firm.

Chill for Strong Shape

  • Place the tray in the fridge for a short time to set the mints better.

Serve Fresh

  • Serve the mints right away or save them for later. They stay soft and creamy.

Notes

  • Use soft cream cheese for the best texture.
  • Add sugar slowly to avoid sticky dough.
  • Do not use too much food color.
  • Chill the dough if it becomes too soft.
  • Dust your hands with sugar while rolling.
  • Air drying helps the mints become firm.
