Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked chicken shredded
  • ½ cup cream cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped jalapenos
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 egg for brushing
  • 1 sheet puff pastry store-bought or homemade

Instructions

Make the Filling

  • In a bowl, mix chicken, cream cheese, and mozzarella. Add jalapenos, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Prepare the Pastry

  • Put your puff pastry on a flat surface. Roll it a little with a rolling pin. Cut it into 4 equal pieces.

Add the Filling

  • Place the chicken mix on one side of each pastry piece. Leave some space on the edges.

Seal the Pockets

  • Fold the pastry over the filling. Press the edges with a fork to seal.

Brush with Egg Wash

  • Beat one egg. Use a brush to spread it on top of each pastry.

Bake the Pockets

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place pockets on a baking tray with parchment paper. Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Let them cool for a few minutes. The cheese will be gooey and hot. Enjoy them plain or with a dip.

Notes

  • Use cooked, shredded chicken.
  • Adjust jalapenos to your spice level.
  • Don’t overfill the pastry.
  • Try adding onion or green chili for extra taste.
  • Air fry them for extra crispiness.
  • Use fresh puff pastry for best layers.
