Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup Sprite
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Powdered sugar for topping optional

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Set your oven to 350°F and let it heat fully before you start mixing anything.

Prepare the Baking Pan

  • Grease your baking pan well with oil or butter to stop the cake from sticking.

Mix the Dry Ingredients

  • Add the cake mix to a large bowl and whisk gently to remove any lumps inside.

Add the Wet Ingredients

  • Pour in the Sprite, eggs, oil, and vanilla, and stir until you get a smooth batter.

Mix Until Smooth

  • Whisk slowly for one minute until the batter looks creamy and has no visible lumps.

Pour Batter Into Pan

  • Slowly pour the smooth cake batter into the greased baking pan you prepared earlier.

Tap the Pan Gently

  • Tap the pan lightly on the counter to release small air bubbles trapped inside.

Bake the Cake

  • Place the pan in the oven and bake for thirty minutes or until the top looks golden.

Do the Toothpick Test

  • Insert a toothpick in the center; if it comes out clean then the cake is fully baked.

Cool the Cake

  • Place the cake on a cooling rack and let it cool completely before you slice and serve.

Notes

  • Use room-temperature eggs.
  • Do not overmix the batter.
  • Use fresh Sprite for more fluff.
  • Add lemon zest for extra flavor.
  • Let the cake cool before cutting.
