Ingredients
  

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter soft
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or yogurt

Instructions
 

Preheat the oven

  • Set oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch pan.

Mash the bananas

  • Peel bananas and mash with a fork. Keep smooth.

Mix butter and sugar

  • Beat butter and sugar until soft and fluffy.

Add eggs and vanilla

  • Add eggs one at a time. Mix. Add vanilla extract.

Combine bananas

  • Stir mashed bananas into butter mixture. Mix well.

Mix dry ingredients

  • In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.

Combine wet and dry

  • Add dry ingredients to banana mixture. Mix gently.

Add sour cream

  • Stir in sour cream. This makes cake moist.

Pour into pan

  • Pour batter into pan. Spread evenly.

Bake the cake

  • Bake 35–40 minutes. Cake should be golden.

Check with toothpick

  • Insert toothpick in center. If clean, cake is ready.

Cool the cake

  • Cool 10 minutes. Then move to a cooling rack.

Serve and enjoy

  • Cut into squares. Eat plain or with frosting.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for better flavor.
  • Do not mix too much to keep cake soft.
  • Use room temperature eggs and butter.
  • Bake right after mixing ingredients.
  • Add chocolate chips for extra taste.
