Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and cleaned
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 5 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons parsley chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp

  • Pat the shrimp dry using paper towels. Season lightly with salt, pepper and paprika. Dry shrimp cook better and get a nice golden color quickly.

Heat the Skillet

  • Place a large skillet over medium heat. Add butter and olive oil together. Let the butter melt completely before adding garlic for extra flavor.

Cook the Garlic

  • Add minced garlic to the hot skillet. Stir gently for one minute until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic because it becomes bitter.

Sear the Shrimp

  • Add shrimp in a single layer inside the skillet. Cook for about two minutes per side until pink, juicy and lightly golden on the edges.

Make the Creamy Sauce

  • Pour heavy cream into the skillet slowly. Stir well and let it simmer gently. The creamy base will mix beautifully with the garlic butter flavor.

Add Parmesan Cheese

  • Sprinkle parmesan cheese into the hot cream sauce. Stir slowly until smooth and creamy. The cheese melts quickly and thickens the delicious sauce perfectly.

Season the Dish

  • Add Italian seasoning, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes if desired. Stir everything carefully to create a rich, balanced and flavorful shrimp skillet sauce.

Garnish and Serve

  • Top the shrimp skillet with fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy it hot with bread, rice, pasta, or roasted vegetables for a complete comforting meal.
