Ingredients

  • 12 –15 rice paper sheets
  • 250 g ground pork or beef
  • 1 small carrot finely grated
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: chili sauce or soy sauce for dipping

Instructions

Prepare the Filling

  • In a large bowl, mix ground meat, grated carrot, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt and pepper.

Soften Rice Paper

  • Fill a shallow bowl with warm water. Dip each rice paper sheet until soft and pliable.

Place Filling on Rice Paper

  • Lay the softened rice paper on a clean surface. Place 1–2 tablespoons of meat mixture in the center.

Fold the Dumpling

  • Fold the sides over the filling, then roll tightly from bottom to top to seal completely.

Heat the Pan or Steamer

  • Add a little oil to a skillet or prepare a steamer with water. Heat over medium.

Cook the Dumplings

  • Place dumplings in skillet or steamer. Cover and cook for 8–10 minutes until meat is fully cooked.

Check Doneness

  • Cut one dumpling open to ensure meat is fully cooked and no pink remains.

Serve Dumplings

  • Transfer dumplings to a plate. Serve with soy sauce, chili sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Use fresh meat for best flavor and texture.
  • Soften rice paper completely to avoid tearing.
  • Don’t overfill to make folding easier.
  • Cook dumplings gently to prevent sticking.
  • Serve immediately for best texture and taste.
