Ingredients

  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 eggs
  • ¾ cup sugar

  • 2 tsp red food color
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ cup buttermilk

Filling:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese soft
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 10 crushed Oreos

Topping:

  • Whipped cream
  • More Oreos
  • Chocolate drizzle optional

Instructions
 

Preheat oven

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Line baking tray with paper.

Mix dry items

  • Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder, soda, and salt in a bowl.

Beat eggs and sugar

  • In another bowl, beat eggs and sugar until fluffy.

Add oil and color

  • Add oil, food color, vanilla, and buttermilk. Stir well.

Combine all

  • Add dry mix to wet mix slowly. Mix until smooth.

Bake sponge

  • Pour batter into tray. Spread flat. Bake 12–15 minutes.

Roll the sponge

  • Turn hot cake onto a towel with sugar. Roll gently.

Make filling

  • Beat cream cheese, sugar, and cream. Fold in Oreos.

Fill the cake

  • Unroll cooled sponge. Spread filling over it.

Roll again

  • Roll sponge again. Place seam side down.

Add topping

  • Spread whipped cream. Add Oreos. Drizzle chocolate if you want.

Chill and serve

  • Chill cake in fridge for 1 hour. Slice and enjoy.

Notes

  • Do not bake too long. Keep sponge soft.
  • Roll while warm to stop cracks.
  • Crush Oreos into big and small bits.
  • Chill before slicing for neat pieces.
  • Add chocolate on top for extra fun.
