Ingredients

  • 9 cups rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup red and green M&Ms
  • 2 tablespoons Christmas sprinkles optional

Instructions

Melt the Chocolate Mix

  • In a microwave bowl, add chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Heat for 30 seconds. Stir well. Repeat until it’s smooth and melted. Add vanilla and mix again.

Coat the Cereal

  • Put the Chex cereal in a big bowl. Pour the melted chocolate mix over it. Stir gently so all pieces get covered. Don’t crush the cereal.

Add the Sugar

  • Place the coated cereal into a zip-top bag. Add powdered sugar. Seal the bag and shake well. The cereal will turn white and look snowy.

Add the Christmas Touch

  • Pour the puppy chow into a big bowl. Add M&Ms and sprinkles. Mix slowly so the colors spread nicely.

Cool and Serve

  • Let it cool for 10 minutes. This helps the chocolate harden. Serve it fresh or store for later.

Notes

  • Always use fresh cereal for best crunch.
  • Don’t overheat the chocolate. Melt it slowly.
  • Add sugar while the mix is warm so it sticks well.
  • Add candies after cooling so they don’t melt.
  • Store in a jar or box to keep it crispy.
