Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup grated onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons yellow mustard

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a loaf pan lightly and set aside.

Mix the Wet Ingredients

  • In a bowl, mix milk, eggs, salt, pepper and garlic powder until well combined.

Add Bread Crumbs

  • Add bread crumbs to wet mixture. Stir until soft and fully soaked.

Add Onion and Meat

  • Add grated onion and ground beef. Mix gently using hands. Do not overmix.

Shape the Meatloaf

  • Place meat mixture into loaf pan. Press gently to form an even shape.

Make the Glaze

  • Mix ketchup, brown sugar and mustard in a small bowl until smooth.

Add the Glaze

  • Spread half the glaze evenly on top of the meatloaf.

Bake the Meatloaf

  • Bake uncovered for forty-five minutes. Remove and spread remaining glaze.

Finish Baking

  • Return to oven. Bake fifteen more minutes until cooked through.

Rest and Slice

  • Let meatloaf rest ten minutes. Slice and serve warm.

  • Use fresh ground beef
  • Grate onion for moisture
  • Do not overmix meat
  • Let meatloaf rest before slicing
  • Use full-fat milk
