Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Oil for frying

For the sauce:

  • ¼ cup hot sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper optional, for extra heat

Instructions

Prep wings

  • Pat wings dry with paper towels. This makes them crispy.

Make coating

  • In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper.

Coat wings

  • Dredge wings in flour mix. Shake off extra flour.

Heat oil

  • Heat oil in fryer or pot to 350°F.

Fry wings

  • Fry wings in batches for 10–12 minutes. They should be golden and crispy.

Make sauce

  • In a bowl, mix hot sauce, melted butter, honey, and cayenne.

Toss wings

  • Add fried wings to sauce. Toss until coated well.

Serve hot

  • Place wings on a tray. Serve with ranch or blue cheese dip.

Notes

  • Dry wings before coating for extra crisp.
  • Do not crowd the fryer. Cook in small batches.
  • Adjust cayenne for more or less spice.
  • Serve right after tossing in sauce.
