Ingredients
  

  • 500 g fresh mushrooms sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • ½ cup vegetable broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions
 

Prepare the Mushrooms

  • Clean mushrooms with a damp cloth.
  • Slice them evenly for even cooking.

Cook the Onion and Garlic

  • Heat oil or butter in a skillet.
  • Add onion and garlic. Cook until soft and golden.

Add the Mushrooms

  • Add mushrooms to the pan.
  • Stir with onions and garlic.
  • Cook 5–7 minutes until mushrooms are soft.

Season the Mushrooms

  • Add thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  • Mix gently. Cook 2 more minutes.

Add Broth and Lemon Juice

  • Pour vegetable broth and lemon juice.
  • Cook until liquid reduces. Mushrooms become juicy and tasty.

Finish with Fresh Parsley

  • Turn off heat. Sprinkle chopped parsley.
  • Stir lightly for color and freshness.

Notes

  • Use fresh, firm mushrooms for best taste.
  • Do not overcook mushrooms; they get watery.
  • Butter gives a richer flavor.
  • Add a little white wine for more taste.
  • Taste and adjust salt and pepper.
