Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or lamb
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

Mix the Ingredients

  • Add ground meat, raisins, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and parsley into a bowl. Mix everything well with your hands or a spoon. Make sure all parts blend nicely.

Shape the Meatballs

  • Take a small amount of the mix and roll it into balls. You can make about 12–14 balls. Keep the size even so they cook the same way.

Heat the Pan

  • Put olive oil in a frying pan. Heat it on medium flame. Wait until the oil is hot.

Cook the Meatballs

  • Add the meatballs to the pan. Cook each side for 5–6 minutes until brown. Turn them slowly so they don’t break apart.

Check the Meatballs

  • Cut one meatball to check if it’s done. It should not be pink inside. If it’s not ready, cover the pan and cook for 3 more minutes on low flame.

Drain and Serve

  • Put the cooked meatballs on a plate with paper towels. It will soak extra oil. Serve them hot and enjoy your meal.

Notes

  • Soak raisins in warm water before using. It makes them soft.
  • Don’t mix the meat too much. It makes the balls hard.
  • You can bake instead of fry for a lighter dish.
  • Use breadcrumbs for soft texture.
  • Add tomato sauce for extra taste.
