Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 can 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon shortening or coconut oil

Instructions
 

Mix Butter and Sugar

  • Take a mixing bowl. Add softened butter and powdered sugar. Beat until smooth and creamy. This creates a soft base for the candy filling.

Add Vanilla and Milk

  • Pour in vanilla extract and sweetened condensed milk. Mix slowly until fully combined. The mixture should look smooth and slightly thick.

Add Coconut and Pecans

  • Add shredded coconut and chopped pecans into the bowl. Mix gently until everything is evenly combined. This gives texture and flavor to the candy.

Chill the Mixture

  • Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator. Chill for at least 1 hour. This makes the mixture firm and easy to shape.

Shape the Candy Balls

  • Take small portions of the mixture. Roll them into bite-sized balls using your hands. Place them on a lined baking tray. Keep space between each piece.

Melt the Chocolate

  • In a double boiler or microwave, melt chocolate chips with shortening. Stir until smooth. This creates a glossy chocolate coating.

Coat the Candy

  • Dip each ball into melted chocolate. Use a fork or spoon to coat evenly. Place back on parchment paper. Let excess chocolate drip off.
