Ingredients

  • 6 fresh peaches peeled, pitted and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter cold and cut into small cubes

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures even cooking and a golden topping for your peach crumble.

Prepare the Peaches

  • Peel, pit and slice fresh peaches. Place them in a mixing bowl. Add sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and lemon juice. Stir gently to coat all slices evenly.

Make the Crumble Topping

  • In another bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar and salt. Add cold butter cubes. Use your fingers or a fork to mix until crumbly and sandy.

Assemble the Crumble

  • Spread the peach mixture evenly in a greased 8x8-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the peaches. Make sure the topping covers all fruit.

Bake the Crumble

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven. Bake for 30–35 minutes until the topping is golden brown and peaches are bubbly.

Cool and Serve

  • Remove the crumble from the oven. Let it cool for 5–10 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream, whipped cream, or enjoy on its own.

Notes

  • Use fresh, ripe peaches for the sweetest flavor.
  • Keep butter cold for a crisp topping.
  • Don’t overmix the topping to keep it crumbly.
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg for extra warmth.
  • Use a glass or ceramic baking dish for even baking.
