Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat the Waffle Maker

  • Plug in your waffle maker. Let it heat while you mix the batter. A hot waffle iron makes crispy waffles.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Whisk together until evenly mixed.

Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In another bowl, beat eggs, milk, oil and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and creamy.

Combine Wet and Dry

  • Pour wet ingredients into dry. Mix gently. Do not overmix. Batter should be slightly lumpy.

Cook the Waffles

  • Grease waffle iron lightly. Pour batter onto the center. Close lid and cook until golden brown.

Serve Immediately

  • Use a spatula to remove waffles carefully. Serve warm with syrup, fruit, or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Preheat the waffle maker fully for crisp edges.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep waffles fluffy.
  • Use melted butter for a richer flavor.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture.
  • Add vanilla or cinnamon for extra aroma.
