Ingredients

  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup limoncello liqueur
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package ladyfingers about 24 pieces
  • Zest of 2 lemons
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • Optional: extra lemon zest for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Cream Mixture

  • In a large bowl, whisk mascarpone cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, lemon zest and lemon juice. Mix until creamy and well combined.

Whip the Heavy Cream

  • In another bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold whipped cream gently into the mascarpone mixture. This creates a light, airy texture for the tiramisu.

Prepare the Ladyfingers

  • Pour limoncello into a shallow dish. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the limoncello. Do not soak; a quick dip is enough to absorb flavor without becoming soggy.

Layer the First Layer

  • Place a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of the serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone cream evenly on top. Smooth with a spatula.

Add Second Layer

  • Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers. Spread the remaining mascarpone cream evenly over the top. This builds the classic layered tiramisu structure.

Chill the Dessert

  • Cover the dish with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. Chilling allows flavors to meld and the dessert to firm up.

Garnish and Serve

  • Before serving, sprinkle extra lemon zest on top for a fresh, decorative touch. Slice into portions and enjoy this light, creamy dessert.

Notes

  • Use fresh lemon juice for bright flavor.
  • Fold whipped cream gently to keep it airy.
  • Dip ladyfingers quickly to avoid sogginess.
  • Chill overnight for the best texture and flavor.
  • Garnish with extra lemon zest or thin lemon slices.
