Instructions
 

Activate the Yeast

  • Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes. When it looks foamy, it’s ready to use.

Make the Dough

  • In a big bowl, add flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mix and 2 tablespoons olive oil. Stir until it becomes a sticky dough.

Knead the Dough

  • Put a little flour on your hands. Knead the dough for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Add a few drops of water if it feels too dry.

Let It Rise

  • Grease a bowl with olive oil. Put the dough in and cover with a towel. Let it rest for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Prepare the Pan

  • Brush your Le Creuset pan with olive oil. Once the dough has risen, place it in the pan. Press it gently so it spreads evenly.

Make the Dents

  • Dip your fingers in oil and press small dents into the dough. These holes help the focaccia bake evenly.

Add Toppings

  • Brush more olive oil on top. Sprinkle rosemary and sea salt. You can also add tomatoes, olives, or garlic if you want.

Bake the Bread

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and crisp.

Cool and Serve

  • Take the bread out of the oven. Let it cool for 10 minutes. Slice and serve warm with soup, cheese, or olive oil.
