Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef 80% lean
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or butter for frying

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, egg, bread crumbs, milk, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce and parsley. Mix gently but thoroughly.

Shape the Patties

  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions. Shape each portion into a round patty about ¾ inch thick. Press lightly in the center to prevent bulging during cooking.

Heat the Skillet

  • Heat vegetable oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Make sure the oil is hot but not smoking to sear patties evenly.

Cook the Patties

  • Place patties in the skillet. Cook 4-5 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through. Avoid pressing down to keep juices inside.

Rest Before Serving

  • Remove patties from skillet and place on a plate. Let rest 3-5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute. Serve warm with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Use 80% lean beef for juicy patties.
  • Mix ingredients gently to avoid dense patties.
  • Do not press patties while cooking; they stay juicy.
  • Rest patties before serving for maximum flavor.
  • Use fresh parsley for a fresh taste.
