  • 2 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

Peel the Potatoes

  • Peel the potatoes. Rinse under cold water to remove excess starch.

Grate the Potatoes

  • Use a box grater or food processor to shred the potatoes evenly.

Remove Extra Water

  • Place grated potatoes in a clean towel. Squeeze out as much liquid as possible.

Mix Potatoes with Butter

  • In a large bowl, mix grated potatoes with melted butter, salt, and pepper.

Preheat the Waffle Iron

  • Plug in the waffle iron and let it heat until ready. Grease with olive oil.

Place Potatoes in Iron

  • Spread a portion of potato mixture evenly on the waffle iron. Do not overfill.

Cook Until Golden

Remove Carefully

  • Use a spatula to lift hash browns out of the waffle iron. Place on a plate.

Repeat for Remaining Potatoes

  • Cook remaining potato mixture in batches until all hash browns are done.

Serve Hot
