Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups ripe tomatoes chopped
  • 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 small onion finely chopped

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a baking dish.

Prepare the Tomatoes

  • Wash tomatoes well. Chop into medium pieces. Set aside.

Mix Tomato Base

  • Add tomatoes, onion, salt, pepper, basil and oregano to a bowl.

Transfer to Dish

  • Pour tomato mixture into prepared baking dish. Spread evenly.

Make the Topping

  • Mix bread crumbs, Parmesan, olive oil and melted butter together.

Top the Tomatoes

  • Sprinkle bread crumb mixture evenly over tomatoes.

Bake the Dish

  • Bake uncovered for thirty to thirty-five minutes until golden.

Rest Before Serving

  • Remove from oven. Let rest for five minutes.
