Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour plus extra for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 packet 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 ½ cups warm water 105–115°F / 40–46°C
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil plus extra for greasing

Instructions
 

Activate the Yeast

  • In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar and yeast. Let it sit 5–10 minutes until foamy. This ensures your dough will rise well.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Stir well to distribute evenly before adding liquids. This prevents clumps and uneven dough.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

  • Make a well in the flour mixture. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir with a wooden spoon until dough starts to come together.

Knead the Dough

  • Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Proper kneading ensures a soft, chewy crust.

First Rise

  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours. It should double in size.

Shape the Dough

  • Punch down the dough to release air. Divide into 4 portions. Roll each into a ball and flatten into a pizza shape with a rolling pin.

Preheat Oven and Bake Pizza

  • Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Place dough on a pizza stone or baking sheet. Add toppings and bake 12–15 minutes until crust is golden.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Remove pizza from oven. Slice and serve hot. Enjoy your homemade pizza with fresh toppings and melted cheese.
