Ingredients
  

For the Scones

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ cup cold butter cubed
  • cup heavy cream
  • cup maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Maple Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 –2 tbsp milk

Instructions
 

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • Combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a bowl. Mix well to spread everything evenly.

Add the Butter

  • Cut in cold butter with a pastry cutter. Mix until small crumbs form for a flaky texture.

Combine Wet Ingredients

  • In another bowl, whisk cream, maple syrup, egg and vanilla. Mix until smooth and well combined.

Form the Dough

  • Add wet mixture to dry ingredients. Stir gently until dough forms. Do not overmix or dough becomes tough.

Shape the Scones

  • Place dough on a floured surface. Shape into a round disc. Cut into eight equal triangles.

Prepare the Baking Sheet

  • Place the triangles on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Keep a little space between each piece.

Bake the Scones

  • Bake at 400°F for 18–20 minutes. Scones should be golden and slightly firm on top.

Make the Glaze

  • Mix powdered sugar, maple syrup and milk in a bowl. Whisk until smooth and shiny.

Glaze the Scones

  • Drizzle warm scones with the maple glaze. Let them sit a few minutes to set the glaze.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve warm with tea, coffee or warm milk. Enjoy the sweet maple flavor in each bite.
