Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes optional
  • 1 lemon zest and juice
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta

  • Boil a large pot of salted water. Add pasta and cook until al dente. Drain using a colander. Save half a cup of pasta water for later use.

Prepare the Shrimp

  • Wash and clean shrimp properly. Pat them dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper. This helps bring out the natural flavor of the shrimp.

Cook the Shrimp

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side. Remove once pink and cooked. Do not overcook.

Make the Sauce Base

  • In the same skillet, add garlic and chili flakes. Cook briefly until fragrant. Add chicken broth and lemon juice. Stir well to combine flavors.

Add Butter and Lemon Zest

  • Add butter and lemon zest to the sauce. Stir until butter melts fully. This creates a smooth and rich lemon sauce with fresh flavor.

Combine Pasta and Sauce

  • Add cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss gently to coat pasta with sauce. Add a little reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the mixture.

Add Shrimp and Cheese

  • Return shrimp to the skillet. Add Parmesan cheese and mix well. Let everything cook together for a minute so flavors blend nicely.

Garnish and Serve
