Ingredients
  

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed if frozen
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 1 egg beaten for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Optional: mustard ketchup, or cheese slices

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. This prevents sticking and makes cleanup easier.

Prepare Puff Pastry

  • Unfold the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Roll gently to smooth folds. Cut the pastry into 8 equal rectangles for wrapping each hot dog.

Wrap the Hot Dogs

  • Place one hot dog on each pastry rectangle. Optional: Add a small slice of cheese on top of the hot dog. Roll the pastry around the hot dog tightly.

Seal and Brush

  • Pinch the edges of the pastry to seal. Mix beaten egg with 1 tablespoon of water. Brush the top of each wrapped hot dog with egg wash for a golden finish.

Bake the Hot Dogs

  • Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes. The pastry should be puffed and golden brown.

Cool Slightly and Serve

  • Remove the hot dogs from the oven carefully. Let them cool for 2–3 minutes. Serve warm with ketchup, mustard or your favorite dipping sauce.
