  • Cold water – enough to cover eggs
  • Ice – 2 cups

Place eggs in a saucepan

  • Put all eggs in one layer. Make sure they do not sit on top of each other.

Add cold water to the pan

  • Pour cold water over the eggs. Make sure the water covers the eggs fully.

Heat the pan on medium-high heat

  • Let the water heat slowly. Wait until the water starts a gentle boil.

Turn off heat when boiling starts

  • Switch off the stove. Put the lid on top of the pan right away.

Let eggs sit for 10 minutes

  • Keep the lid closed. The hot water will cook the eggs perfectly and evenly.

Prepare an ice bath

  • Fill a bowl with ice and cold water. This helps stop cooking quickly.

Move eggs to the ice bath

  • Use a spoon to place eggs in the ice bowl. Let them cool for 5 minutes.

Peel the eggs gently

  • Crack the shell and peel under running water. The shell should slip off easily.
