Ingredients

  • 4 halibut fillets about 6 oz each
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 lemon zest and juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Set the oven to 400°F (200°C). Let it get hot while you get the fish ready.

Prepare the Halibut

  • Pat the halibut dry with paper towels. This helps it cook well and get a nice crust. Put the fish on a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Make the Lemon Butter Sauce

  • Mix olive oil, melted butter, garlic, lemon zest, and juice in a bowl. Add salt, pepper, and parsley. Stir well. This makes the tasty sauce.

Coat the Fish

  • Brush the lemon butter sauce on the fish. Cover it well. Keep a little sauce to use later.

Bake the Halibut

  • Put the fish in the oven. Bake for 12–15 minutes. It should flake easily with a fork and look white inside.

Add Final Touch

  • Take the fish out. Pour the rest of the lemon butter sauce on top. Add lemon slices and parsley for garnish.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve the fish hot. It tastes soft, buttery, and fresh with lemon.

Notes

  • Use fresh fish for the best taste.
  • Don’t bake too long or it gets dry.
  • Always dry the fish before baking.
  • Add more lemon for a fresh flavor.
  • You can grill it for a smoky taste.
