Ingredients

  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts optional

Instructions

Prepare the Pan

  • Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper. Leave extra paper on sides. This helps remove fudge easily later.

Heat the Mixture

  • In a medium saucepan, add chocolate chips, butter and sweetened condensed milk. Cook over low heat. Stir constantly to prevent burning.

Melt Until Smooth

  • Keep stirring gently until everything melts completely. The mixture should look shiny and smooth without lumps.

Add Flavor

  • Remove pan from heat. Add vanilla extract and salt. Stir well to mix flavors evenly.

Add Nuts

  • If using walnuts, fold them into the chocolate mixture. Mix gently so nuts spread evenly.

Pour into Pan

  • Pour the warm fudge mixture into the prepared pan. Spread evenly with a spatula. Smooth the top carefully.

Chill the Fudge

  • Place the pan in the refrigerator. Chill for at least two hours. The fudge should become firm and easy to cut.

Cut and Serve

  • Remove fudge using parchment paper. Cut into small squares with a sharp knife. Serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate chips.
  • Cook on low heat only.
  • Stir constantly while melting.
  • Do not overheat the chocolate.
  • Chill fully before cutting.
