Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee or hot water
  • ½ cup chocolate chips optional

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease the bundt pan well with butter and dust with flour. This step prevents sticking and helps the cake release easily after baking.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, add flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix well using a whisk. This ensures even distribution of all dry ingredients.

Add Wet Ingredients

  • Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla extract into the dry mixture. Mix slowly using a mixer or whisk. Blend until smooth and creamy without overmixing the batter.

Add Hot Liquid

  • Carefully pour hot coffee or hot water into the batter. Mix slowly until combined. The batter will be thin. This step enhances chocolate flavor and keeps cake moist.

Add Chocolate Chips

  • Fold in chocolate chips if using. This adds extra richness and texture to the cake. Mix gently to spread them evenly in the batter.

Pour into Pan

  • Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Tap the pan lightly on the counter. This removes air bubbles and helps the cake bake evenly.

Bake the Cake

  • Place the pan in the oven and bake for 40–45 minutes. Insert a toothpick in the center. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready.

Cool and Serve

  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a cooling rack. Let it cool completely before slicing. Serve plain or with glaze.

Notes

  • Use good quality cocoa powder for better flavor
  • Do not overmix the batter
  • Always grease the bundt pan well
  • Use hot coffee for deeper chocolate taste
  • Let cake cool before removing from pan
