Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets 6 oz each
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade

  • Mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, ginger, garlic and red pepper flakes in a bowl.

Marinate the Salmon

  • Place salmon in a shallow dish. Pour marinade over it. Cover and refrigerate 15–30 minutes.

Preheat the Grill

  • Heat grill or grill pan to medium-high. Brush with oil to prevent sticking.

Grill the Salmon

  • Place salmon skin-side down. Cook 4–5 minutes per side until opaque and flaky.

Baste with Marinade

  • Brush remaining marinade over salmon while grilling for extra flavor and moisture.

Check for Doneness

  • Use a fork to see if salmon flakes easily. Internal temperature should be 145°F.

Plate the Salmon

  • Transfer salmon to a serving plate carefully. Avoid breaking fillets while moving.

Garnish

  • Sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top before serving.

Serve Immediately

  • Serve with rice, noodles, or vegetables. Enjoy while warm for best taste.

Notes

  • Do not overcook salmon; it becomes dry quickly.
  • Use fresh ginger and garlic for maximum flavor.
  • Let salmon marinate at least 15 minutes for taste.
  • Preheat grill properly to avoid sticking.
  • Use a brush to baste for extra glaze.
