  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 4 oz unsweetened chocolate chopped
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream or ice cream optional, for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures the pie cooks evenly and the fudge sets nicely.

Prepare the Chocolate

  • Melt chocolate with butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly until smooth.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a bowl, whisk together sugar, flour and salt. Make sure there are no lumps.

Add Eggs and Vanilla

  • Beat eggs lightly. Add vanilla. Mix into dry ingredients until combined.

Combine Chocolate and Egg Mixture

  • Slowly stir melted chocolate into egg mixture. Mix until smooth and uniform.

Pour into Pie Crust

  • Place pre-made crust in pie pan. Pour fudge filling evenly over the crust.

Bake the Pie

  • Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Filling should be set but soft in center.

Cool Before Serving

  • Let pie cool completely at room temperature. Chill in fridge if preferred.

Serve with Toppings

  • Top with whipped cream or ice cream. Slice and enjoy this rich chocolate dessert.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for richer flavor.
  • Do not overbake; filling should remain slightly soft.
  • Let pie cool before slicing for clean pieces.
  • Use room temperature eggs to avoid clumps.
  • Garnish with chocolate shavings for extra flair.
