Ingredients

  • 1 pound boudin sausage casings removed
  • 2 cups crushed hot Cheetos
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup cooking oil for frying

Instructions

Prepare the Boudin Mixture

  • Remove the casing from the boudin sausage. Place the filling in a mixing bowl. Add cooked rice, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and black pepper. Mix everything until well combined.

Crush the Hot Cheetos

  • Place the hot Cheetos in a food processor and grind into fine crumbs. If you do not have one, use a zip bag. Crush them with a rolling pin.

Shape the Balls

  • Take a small amount of the boudin mixture. Roll it into a small ball using your hands. Continue shaping until all the mixture is used.

Prepare the Coating

  • Place flour in one bowl. Beat the egg in another bowl. Put crushed hot Cheetos in a third bowl. This coating will make the balls crispy.

Coat the Boudin Balls

  • Roll each ball in flour first. Then dip it into the beaten egg. Finally coat it fully with crushed hot Cheetos.

Heat the Oil

  • Pour cooking oil into a deep pan. Heat it on medium heat until hot but not smoking. The oil should be ready for frying.

Fry the Boudin Balls

  • Carefully place the coated balls into the hot oil. Fry them for about 3–4 minutes. Turn gently until all sides become crispy and golden red.

Drain and Serve

  • Remove the balls with a slotted spoon. Place them on paper towels to remove extra oil. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Use fresh boudin sausage for the best flavor.
  • Crush the Cheetos finely for even coating.
  • Do not overcrowd the frying pan.
  • Keep oil temperature medium to prevent burning.
  • Serve immediately for maximum crispiness.
