Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup hot sauce like Frank’s RedHot
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • A pinch of black pepper

Instructions

Melt the Butter

  • Put a small pan on low heat. Add butter and let it melt slowly. Stir it with a spoon so it doesn’t burn.

Add the Sauces

  • Add hot sauce, honey, and barbecue sauce to the pan. Stir well until everything mixes nicely. The sauce will look smooth and shiny.

Add the Seasonings

  • Now add soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Stir again to mix all the flavors.

Simmer the Sauce

  • Let the sauce cook for 5 to 7 minutes on low heat. Stir often so it doesn’t stick. The sauce will get a bit thick as it cooks.

Taste and Adjust

  • Taste your sauce. If you want it sweeter, add more honey. For more spice, add a bit more hot sauce.

Cool and Store

  • Turn off the heat and let the sauce cool down. Pour it into a clean jar or bowl. Your Hooters Daytona Beach Sauce is ready to use.

Notes

  • Use real butter for rich flavor.
  • Never skip the honey; it makes the sauce shiny.
  • Add more smoked paprika for extra smoky taste.
  • Stir often to stop the sauce from burning.
  • Let the sauce cool before using; it gets thicker.
