  • White fish fillets – 500g cod or tilapia
  • Flour – ½ cup
  • Cornstarch – ¼ cup
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Black pepper – ½ tsp
  • Paprika – 1 tsp
  • Garlic powder – ½ tsp
  • Eggs – 2
  • Oil – for frying
  • Tortillas – 8 small

For Toppings:

  • Cabbage – 2 cups shredded
  • Carrot – 1 grated
  • Tomato – 1 chopped
  • Fresh cilantro – 2 tbsp

For Sauce:

  • Mayonnaise – ½ cup
  • Lime juice – 1 tbsp
  • Hot sauce – 1 tsp
  • Honey – 1 tsp

Instructions

Prepare the Fish

  • Cut fish fillets into strips. Pat them dry with paper towel. This helps coating stick better and gives crispy texture when frying.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder. Mix well. This mixture creates a flavorful coating for the fish.

Prepare Egg Mixture

  • Beat eggs in another bowl. Dip each fish strip into eggs first. Then coat it with the flour mixture. Make sure each piece is fully covered.

Heat the Oil

  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Make sure oil is hot enough. This helps fry fish quickly and keeps it crispy outside.

Fry the Fish

  • Place coated fish in hot oil carefully. Fry for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Prepare the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, lime juice, hot sauce and honey. Stir until smooth. This sauce adds creamy and tangy flavor to tacos.

Prepare the Toppings

  • In a bowl, mix cabbage, carrot, tomato and cilantro. This fresh topping gives crunch and freshness to balance the crispy fish.

Assemble the Tacos

  • Warm tortillas slightly. Add fish pieces inside. Top with fresh vegetables and drizzle sauce on top. Serve immediately for best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Use fresh fish for better taste.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan while frying.
  • Keep oil at medium heat for even cooking.
  • Warm tortillas before serving.
  • Add lime juice for extra freshness.
