Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls sliced in half
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk any type
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil for cooking
  • Maple syrup powdered sugar or fresh fruits for topping

Instructions

Prepare the Egg Mixture

  • In a medium bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and salt until smooth.

Slice the Rolls

  • Cut Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Keep them soft and fluffy for French toast.

Heat the Pan

  • Place a skillet over medium heat. Add butter or oil and let it melt completely.

Dip the Rolls

  • Dip each roll half into the egg mixture. Coat both sides without soaking too long.

Cook the Rolls

  • Place dipped rolls in the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.

Check the Color

  • Flip carefully with a spatula. Both sides should be golden and slightly crispy.

Serve Warm

  • Place cooked rolls on a plate. Serve immediately with syrup, fruits or powdered sugar.

Notes

  • Use fresh Hawaiian rolls for the softest texture.
  • Don’t soak the rolls too long, or they become soggy.
  • Cook on medium heat for even browning.
  • Use a non-stick skillet or griddle for easy flipping.
  • Add cinnamon or nutmeg to the egg mixture for extra flavor.
