Ingredients
  

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper optional
  • ½ teaspoon paprika optional
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional for topping

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Prepare the Puff Pastry

  • Roll the puff pastry slightly to flatten. It should be even and ready for layering.

Layer Ham and Cheese

  • Place ham slices on the puff pastry. Add cheese slices evenly on top of ham.

Cut Into Sticks

  • Using a knife, cut the layered pastry into strips about 1 inch wide. Keep them even.

Roll the Sticks

  • Roll each strip gently, tucking the sides to make a neat stick shape.

Prepare Egg Wash

  • In a small bowl, whisk egg with water. Brush each stick lightly for golden color.

Add Optional Toppings

  • Sprinkle black pepper, paprika or sesame seeds on sticks for extra flavor.

Bake the Sticks

  • Place sticks on baking sheet. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Cool Slightly

  • Remove sticks from oven. Let cool 3–5 minutes before serving.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve warm as a snack or appetizer. Perfect with ketchup, mustard or your favorite dip.
