This French Lobster Thermidor Recipe is rich, creamy and full of wonderful flavor. It feels fancy, but it is easier than you think. The dish has tender lobster meat mixed with a smooth sauce made with cream, cheese and mustard.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 whole lobsters cooked
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup mushrooms chopped
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • ½ cup white wine
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ cup grated cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

Prepare the Lobster

  • Cut the cooked lobsters in half. Remove the meat gently. Chop the meat into small bite-size pieces.

Cook Onion and Garlic

  • Heat butter in a skillet. Add chopped onion and garlic. Stir until soft and lightly golden.

Add Mushrooms

  • Place chopped mushrooms in the skillet. Cook them until they release water and turn soft.

Add Flour and Wine

  • Sprinkle flour over the mixture. Add white wine slowly. Stir well until the sauce starts thickening.

Add Cream and Mustard

  • Pour heavy cream into the skillet. Add mustard, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce turn smooth and creamy.

Add the Lobster Meat

  • Place chopped lobster into the sauce. Stir gently to coat the meat with the creamy sauce.

Fill the Shells

  • Scoop the lobster mix back into the empty lobster shells. Fill them evenly and neatly.

Add the Cheese

  • Sprinkle grated cheese over the top. Make sure it covers the lobster mix well.

Bake Until Golden

  • Bake at 400°F for 10 minutes. Remove when the cheese melts and turns golden brown.

Notes

  • Use fresh lobster for the best taste.
  • Do not overcook the sauce.
  • Add more mustard for stronger flavor.
  • Use good cheese for better crust.
