Ingredients

  • 12 glazed donut holes
  • ½ cup white candy melts or white chocolate
  • 12 blue or green candy pieces for eyes
  • 12 chocolate chips for pupils
  • Red food color or red icing gel for veins
  • Toothpicks or small sticks

Instructions

Prepare the Donut Holes

  • Put the donut holes on a tray. Make sure they are not too soft. If they are sticky, keep them in the fridge for a few minutes.

Melt the White Chocolate

  • Melt white candy melts in a small bowl. Use the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir until it looks smooth.

Coat the Donut Holes

  • Dip each donut hole in melted chocolate. Cover all sides. Put them on paper and let them cool for 5 minutes.

Add the Eye Center

  • Put one blue or green candy on top. Press softly so it sticks. This makes the center of the eye.

Add the Pupils

  • Place one chocolate chip in the middle of the candy. The flat side should be up. Now it looks like a real eyeball!

Draw the Veins

  • Dip a toothpick in red food color. Draw red lines from the center to the edge. These look like blood veins.

Let Them Set

  • Keep them in the fridge for 10 minutes. This helps the chocolate become hard.

Serve and Scare

  • Put the eyeballs on sticks or a tray. Serve them cold. Kids will love the spooky look!

Notes

  • Use glazed donut holes so the base is smooth.
  • Don’t heat the chocolate too much.
  • Let it cool a bit before you decorate.
  • Mix red food color with a drop of water for bright veins.
  • You can use different colors for the eyes.
  • Use strawberry jam for a gooey blood effect if you like.
