Ingredients

  • 1 medium green cabbage
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1 cup mayo
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp celery seed optional

Instructions

Prep the cabbage

  • Slice the cabbage into thin strips. Keep them small so they mix well.

Grate the carrot

  • Grate the carrot into fine pieces. It mixes well with the cabbage.

Make the dressing

  • Mix mayo, sugar, vinegar, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Whisk until the mix is smooth and creamy.

Add cabbage and carrot

  • Put both veggies in a large bowl. Make sure the bowl is big so mixing is easy.

Pour the dressing

  • Pour the dressing on the veggies. Mix slowly so all pieces get covered.

Chill the coleslaw

  • Keep the bowl in the fridge for 30 minutes. This helps the flavors mix better.

Mix again and serve

  • Stir the coleslaw again before serving. Enjoy the sweet and crisp taste.

Notes

  • Use fresh cabbage for best crunch.
  • Do not add too much dressing.
  • Taste before adding more sugar.
  • Let the coleslaw rest before serving.
  • Use apple cider vinegar for a soft taste.
