  • 6 medium potatoes peeled and diced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup 10 oz
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup butter melted
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup cornflakes crushed
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter for topping

Instructions

Boil the potatoes

  • Peel and cut potatoes. Boil them in salted water. Cook until soft. Drain well.

Make the creamy mix

  • Mix sour cream, cream of chicken soup, cheese, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.

Add the potatoes

  • Put boiled potatoes in the creamy mix. Stir gently so they stay whole.

Prepare the topping

  • Mix crushed cornflakes with melted butter. This makes the top crunchy.

Bake the dish

  • Spread potato mix in a baking dish. Add the topping. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40–45 minutes. The top should be golden.

Serve hot

  • Take out from oven. Rest for 5 minutes. Serve warm and enjoy the creamy taste.

Notes

  • Use fresh potatoes for best taste.
  • Do not over-boil potatoes.
  • Use fresh shredded cheese for melting.
  • Add paprika for extra flavor.
  • Bake without cover for a crispy top.
