Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta shells or penne work best
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Pasta

  • Boil water in a pot and cook pasta until soft. Drain and keep it aside. You can also cook it in the same pan later to save time.

Cook the Beef

  • Heat olive oil in a large pan. Add beef and cook until brown. Break it into small pieces with a spoon. Remove extra oil if needed.

Add Onion and Garlic

  • Add chopped onion and garlic to the beef. Cook for 2–3 minutes until soft. This step makes your dish smell and taste nice.

Add Taco Seasoning

  • Add taco seasoning to the beef. Stir well so it mixes fully. The spice gives a strong and tasty taco flavor.

Add Pasta, Broth, and Sauce

  • Add cooked pasta, beef broth, and tomato sauce. Mix everything well. Let it cook for 10 minutes on low heat so the flavors blend.

Add Cheese

  • Add cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Stir until melted and creamy. The cheese makes the pasta soft and gooey.

Taste and Adjust

  • Taste your pasta. Add salt or pepper if needed. You can also add chili for a spicy kick.

Garnish and Serve

  • Turn off the heat. Add parsley or cilantro on top. Serve hot and enjoy your cheesy taco pasta!

Notes

  • Use fresh cheese for a creamy texture.
  • Don’t overcook the pasta; keep it a little firm.
  • You can use ground chicken or turkey instead of beef.
  • Add cream cheese if you want extra creaminess.
  • For spice, add jalapeños or chili flakes.
