Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs beef flank or brisket
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 green pepper sliced
  • 1 red pepper sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 4 cups beef broth

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare the beef

  • Wash the beef. Dry it. Add salt and pepper.

Step 2: Cook the beef

  • Heat oil in a pot. Brown beef on all sides. Add broth and bay leaves. Cover and cook 2–3 hours.

Step 3: Shred the beef

  • Take beef out when soft. Let it cool. Shred with forks.

Step 4: Make the sauce

  • In the same pot, cook onions, peppers, and garlic. Add tomato paste, sauce, and spices. Stir well.
  • Step 5: Mix beef with sauce
  • Add shredded beef back in. Cook for 20 minutes.

Step 6: Serve hot

  • Your dish is ready. Serve with rice, beans, or plantains.

  • Cook beef slow for softness.
  • Use fresh garlic for better taste.
  • Shred carefully, do not rush.
  • Add vinegar for extra flavor.
  • Rest beef before shredding.
