Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound green beans cut and trimmed
  • 3 slices bacon chopped
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

Instructions
 

Cook the Bacon

  • Put chopped bacon in a saucepan. Cook until crispy on medium heat. Take the bacon out and keep it aside. Leave the bacon fat in the pan.

Sauté the Onion and Garlic

  • Add onion to the bacon fat. Cook it for 2–3 minutes until soft. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. It will smell very nice.

Add the Green Beans

  • Add the green beans to the pan. Stir them well to coat with bacon fat.

Add Broth and Seasonings

  • Pour in the chicken broth. Add salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix everything well.

Simmer Until Tender

  • Cover the pan with a lid. Let it cook for 15 minutes. The beans should be soft but not too soft.

Add Bacon Back

  • Add the crispy bacon back to the pan. Stir and cook for one more minute. Your Bojangles Green Beans Recipe is ready to serve.
