Aloo Keema is a classic Pakistani and Indian dish made with ground meat and tender potatoes. This recipe is full of flavor and spices, making it perfect for family dinners or festive meals.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g ground meat beef, lamb or chicken
  • 3 medium potatoes peeled and diced
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1- inch ginger grated
  • 2 green chilies sliced
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Fresh coriander chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Heat Oil and Cumin

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and sauté for 30 seconds until aromatic.

Sauté Onion, Ginger, Garlic

  • Add onions, garlic and ginger. Cook until onions turn golden brown and soft.

Add Ground Meat

  • Add ground meat. Cook until browned and no longer pink, breaking lumps with a spoon.

Add Spices

  • Stir in turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder and salt. Mix well to coat meat.

Add Tomatoes

  • Add chopped tomatoes. Cook until tomatoes become soft and release their juices.

Add Potatoes

  • Add diced potatoes to the meat mixture. Stir to coat with spices and sauce.

Add Water and Simmer

  • Pour in half a cup of water. Cover and cook on medium heat for 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender.

Add Garam Masala and Green Chilies

  • Sprinkle garam masala and sliced green chilies. Stir gently to combine flavors.

Garnish and Serve

  • Sprinkle fresh coriander on top. Serve hot with rice, roti or naan for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Use fresh ground meat for best flavor
  • Fry onions until golden brown for deep taste
  • Do not overcook potatoes; they should be tender but hold shape
  • Adjust spice levels according to your preference
  • Stir occasionally to prevent sticking
